Karen Bartomioli has been writing for a weekly newspaper for more than 19 years, taking a catch more bees with honey approach. Living, working and volunteering in the communties she covers, along with being a parent of high-schoolers, makes for interesting mash-ups. Her writing career began as a way to be flexible for the needs of six kids. Now it helps feed the three teenagers remaining at home. It also helps maintain her sanity.
